I've been away. So no blog. Spent the best week of the summer visiting friends down south. Fab time.
On the journey home yesterday, I noticed that Vauxhall Zafira drivers seem to be unaware of the Highway Code. Specifically that bit that says anyone who hogs the middle lane should be taken away, shot at dawn, chopped up and scrambled in a big pan, shot again, fed to angry puffins and then given a stiff talking to.
Which brings me to a story on tonight's news. Something is at last being done to inform these people that they are dimwits of the highest order and that they should move to the inside lane if there's room.
On a more serious note, Jessie James's inquest starts today. Already, it looks as though some witnesses are too scared to give evidence, even though unprecedented levels of security and anonymity-protection are being offered.
Since I've been away, there have been stacks of shootings here in Greater Manchester. They can hardly have helped to calm the nerves of would-be witnesses.
