Difficult job today
A bit of a difficult job today.
We were expecting the verdict on a man who systematically raped a young girl. But it didn't come in until about 5.20. And I'd planned it as the lead story. I hung on as long as I could but had to replan the start of the 5pm programme.
We started again at 5.30 with the new story at the top of the show.
Clare Fallon really earned her money tonight as the show was reorganised as she presented, with the autocue changing before her very eyes. She did a fantastic job.
