Bank Holiday Monday's show.

It's the bank holiday and some of us are at work. Boo! Hiss!
In fact, because of the way we're doing things, I'm editing both the 5pm and the 9pm programmes today. So my working day is actually longer today than normal. I will get a lieu day. And it is raining, so someone up there's noticed.
Bank holidays are notoriously slow news days. Nothing much happens.
But we're looking at the MEN's splash about parties at posh city centre flats irritating other residents. One of the benefits of doing this story over the bank holiday is that flat-dwellers will actually be around. They won't be at work.
We're also looking at the parking rip off in the city centre. Last bank holiday Monday I was off and parked in Chorlton Street. But I wasn't sure whether I had to pay. The ticket machines don't say what happens on a bank holiday. It turns out you don't have to pay, but a hell of a lot of people do, just in case. The city council cannot/will not tell us how much dosh extra they get from that.
Congestion charging is still at the top of the news list. City centre residents and businesses are getting together to campaign against it. I wonder if it would apply on a bank holiday? Probably one of those things that has yet to be decided.
I got the Metrolink to work today. Or, rather, I didn't. I got the replacement bus service. So the congestion charge wouldn't have applied to me. Anyway, the bus driver didn't know the way. We ended up doing a 10-minute detour around Prestwich before we actually got from Bowker Vale to Crumpsall station. Nice to see Bury Old Road and Sheepfoot Lane for no particular reason. I hope that when the tram line repairs are in full swing, the drivers actually know the way from tram stop to tram stop.
