Any human beings about?

AT Channel M News, we like to speak to human beings.
Unfortunately, those responsible for our services don’t like to be questioned when things go wrong.
Manchester City Council’s education department employs 1,400 people. But not one of them was available when the city’s terrible truancy figures came to light.
Bolton, Tameside and St Mary’s hospitals have all come under fire recently. Nobody was available to talk for any of them.
Stretford post office is going to shut and then merged into WH Smith. Again, nobody is available to justify the decision.
These bodies do issue pre-prepared statements. That means they don’t have to appear on telly or get questioned.
With such reluctance to stand up and be counted, it’s no wonder we’re so cynical about the quality of our public services.
