Bursting your bubble
We’ve covered a couple of events recently in which helium balloons are launched into the air.
A hotel company has just written to us, excitedly, about its plan to release 800 more of them. I shan’t give it free advertising by saying which one.
Is it just me, or does anyone else object to this sort of thing?
Whenever I see balloons sailing off into the sky, I think: “That’s just slow litter.”
OK, they look quite nice when they fly off. But pretty soon they end up on a hedgerow, blowing on the road or being eaten by a cow.
I’d love just one council several miles away to find one when it’s landed and fine whoever sent it.
